![]() Topic: Is it easier to lose weight before the second babyPosted: 2007-Mar-15 at 10:52 |
|
My wife gained approximately 40 pounds during the first pregnancy 2-1/2 years ago and maybe 5 more since than. We are discussing having a second child and I told her that I would be concerned for her health going into another pregancy at her current weight. She says that she will lose all the weight after the second one. I reasoned that it would be easier to lose the weight now but she disagrees. Does my reasoning make sense? |

I just learned at Uni that you are absolutely right. It''s much better to try and lose some weight before a second pregnancy. For one, apparently it''s easier to get pregnant. Secondly, you''re wife will most likely gain weight again during pregnancy, but it won''t be as much to lose as she would have to with the weight she''s got now + the weight she will have gained extra. Last but not least, it will be a healthier pregnancy for both mum and baby. read Dutch.. |

kilos. I feel very happy and healthy and knowing if I put 12-13 kilos of total pregnancy I will have no trouble losing it ... compare to losing 37 kilos after my 2nd child (which took me 16 months to do!) Best of luck. Audrey |

You''re right. My wife gained 50 pounds withour first child and then 70 with the second. The added weight has made her much more sedentary and she continues to gain weight. |
